1. Who we are

2. Not legal advice

Check My Rent Rise provides general information and self-help documents for private tenants in England. Our checker and documents are self-help information, not legal advice, and are not reviewed by a solicitor. Using the site does not create a solicitor-client relationship. The checker works only from your answers and cannot see your actual notice. For advice on your situation, contact Shelter, Citizens Advice or a law centre.

3. England only

The content covers private assured tenancies in England under the rules in force from 1 May 2026. It does not cover Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, social housing, lodgers or regulated tenancies.

4. Accuracy

We check our content against GOV.UK, legislation.gov.uk, Shelter and Citizens Advice, but the law and official guidance can change. We cannot guarantee any outcome, including a tribunal decision. You are responsible for checking documents before sending them and for meeting deadlines.

5. The challenge pack - information before you buy

  • What it is: a personalised, downloadable PDF made from your checker answers. It contains a template letter to your landlord, a plain-English summary of your rights with sources, a step-by-step guide to applying to the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) with your deadline, and a comparable-rent evidence checklist and table. It is self-help information, not legal advice.
  • Total price: £7.99, one-off. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. There are no delivery or other charges.
  • Payment: by card through Stripe's secure checkout. We never see your card details.
  • Delivery: after payment, Stripe returns you to our download page, where your PDF is created and available to download straight away. We don't keep a copy, so please save it. The download page works for 48 hours after payment in the same browser you used for the check.
  • Compatibility: a standard PDF file, readable on any phone, tablet or computer with a PDF reader (most devices have one built in).
  • Who can buy: UK customers only, for properties in England.
  • Availability: the pack is only on sale when the "Buy pack" button is shown on the checker.

6. Your right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase. Because the pack is digital content supplied immediately, we ask you, before you pay, to agree that you want immediate access and to acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel. If you give that consent and acknowledgement, you lose the right to cancel once the download starts (regulation 37).

This does not affect your other legal rights. If the pack is faulty, does not download, or is not as described, contact us at hello@checkmyrentrise.co.uk and we will fix it or refund you (Consumer Rights Act 2015).

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with anything, email hello@checkmyrentrise.co.uk with details and, if you bought a pack, the email address you used at checkout. We aim to reply within 14 days.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
